A series of physical maquettes built over custom 1:4 and 1:3 dress forms. These are exercises in garment design, pattern making, and construction at a small scale.
The heads and arms are 3D printed as well as traditionally sculpted. The core mannequin forms are cast in polyurethane foam using custom designed molds.
The initial toiles are draped over the form with muslin, paper and masking tape and then flattened out as patterns. The garment themselves are then fabricated in starched cotton fabric, EVA foam, leather, and spacer mesh. The look is completed with the addition of accessories and some parts are painted and weathered.
